Mr Macmillan is the primary breast cancer clinical subspecialty lead for breast cancer at the Nottingham Breast Institute. He has been a consultant oncoplastic surgeon for 10 years. His clinical aspect include all aspects of breast surgery.
With research interest including techniques in breast surgery, breast cancer risks and prognosis, and quality of life after breast cancer treatment. Mr Macmillan is the co-director of the Oncoplastic and Reconstructive breast surgery meeting and training programme.
He has written more than 10 book chapters and published over 50 articles in breast- related research in such journals such as Breast, Breast Cancer Research & Treatment, the European Journal of Cancer, Psycho-Oncology and the Breast Journal
He presents and performs operative demonstrations at many national and international meetings.
