A radiologist is a doctor who has specialised in the use of imaging to support diagnosis and treatment.

The radiologists in the Breast Institute have all developed specialist expertise in interpreting X-ray and ultrasound images of the breast.

They also perform image-guided biopsy of the breast to obtain tissue samples for examination by a pathologist.

Some patients may have other imaging procedures such as MRI or CT; these will also be interpreted by the radiologist.
